The Bold and the Beautiful blog review

I was chicken to join this blog hop, but I'm just going to take the plunge.
I started this blog for a place to keep all of our projects together. I started out with just posts of a lot of pictures. Now I am trying to get into a post a day and want to start doing tutes. I haven't paid attention to if I still have more than one button for certain things. If I do it is something I am aware of and you don't have to mention if you don't want to. OK. I'm going back to Gail's and posting this.
I just noticed my blog list isn't under my header for blog list. If someone can tell me how to fix that I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi Mare, nice to meet you! I'm a Texas girl through and through, but my Grandmother was born in Anaconda and was raised in Missoula, and even after she moved to Texas, Montana was always her home. We took a trip up there so that she could see everything, and I was just overcome by how beautiful it is - you are a lucky girl to be where you are! Ok, now onto the blog!

I like the header, and the design - but if this is your standard header (not just for Valentines) it doesnt really tell me much about you, or your specialties. (Which is what a first time reader will want to know - "do we share the same interests"). Your blog title is enough to snare ME in, I like Arts and Crafts, and want to see what you have.

I love that you have so many pictures because not only does that identify your style, but crafters are usually very visual people - but I do think you need more stories - not long drawn out paragraphs, but just snippets that will attach us to you - and keep us coming back. The little snippet you have in your About Me, about your hubby doing the woodworking so he wont go stir crazy in the house - thats perfect - it draws a human connection. Make those references as much as you can - so that the readers will fall for YOU (and hubby) just as much as your crafts, and you will garner lots of readers!

PS. I know you said that you are going to be working on this in the upcoming future - I just thought to give you some ideas to help you with that.

I think the two of you have a lot of talent, but I am really left wanting to know more about you - how you two work together (or apart) to create things - things like that. All in all, a great blog, I can't wait to see more!

Mare, Cute layout, but I too wonder if it is permanent or vt theme?
the first thing I noticed was there is no "home" button near the top. As I do my critiques, I like to refresh the page so that I can see other posts, not just the blog hop. That helps me to see your layout, the kinds of pictures you upload etc. To do that I usually click the header or the "home". I couldn't do that on your cute blog!
Second, you'll find out quickly that when you link to a party, the hostess wants you to link to a specific post, not the home page of your blog. In my case, I went in to the link party and changed your link to land here on this page instead of your general blog address.
I suggest that you put your archive a little lower on your side bar.
Check out the post I did Sunday, lots of blog tips!

Thank you for joining our little blog hop. I am thrilled you jumped in and took the risk. :) I am following with everyone else and am curious about the layout if it is standard or special for the upcoming holiday. The blog all looks cute. I prefer a single sidebar, but you do do a nice 2 sidebar. I guess I find my eyes dancing all over the place. I am not sure if it is my ADD or that I am afraid I will miss something but I tend to bounce from side to side when I see 2 sidebars. Also...Another gentle suggestion would be to move your followers to right underneath your "about me" section. Time is of the essence for bloggers so to get more bang for your buck...you might take advantage of the new placement. New followers choose to follow in less than 1 minute. Helping them out by making it easier to find might benefit you. Once again these are just gentle thoughts. I know that taking a risk and putting yourself out there is very scary, but you should feel so proud and empowered. I hope that you are not a no-reply when dealing with comments. I always love being able to respond to my bloggers. Also...if you need anything, Gail and I would love to help. Just let us know what we can do. :)

Have a great start to the week, and I hope this is the beginning of seeing more of you in the little blog world. :)

Cheers~

I really like your header and wallpaper, is it just for Valentine's Day? The only suggestion I have is to maybe make your photos a little larger in your posts?
Great job on your blog!

Hey there,, coming over from the blog hop. Very cute header and colors.. I love hearts! I like that you have your labels close to the top. Thats my favorite place to look when finding new blogs.
I see your blog list to the left,, i'm not sure how to help with the problem there.

Hello! Your wood art is amazing!! I would love to see larger photos of it! I'm with the other gals that your product would best be served by having a larger area for posting and smaller sidebars :)

LOVE the birdies :)

I love the way your blog looks! Very nice. Thanks for stopping by and giving me a hand with mine! I think with your blog list you will have to either import them from your dashboard or manually put them in. Just tinker around with it! I need to do some tinkering of my own! We are all a work in progress! PS.. I'm now following you back!
